UKNCC was founded by four British citizens who share a commitment to strengthen the U.K.’s China-facing capabilities and support constructive dialogue with China.
- Frank Slevin (Chairman)
- Ollie Shiell (Chief Executive)
- Andrew Cainey
- David Percival MBE

UKNCC was incorporated as a Community Interest Company (CIC) at Companies House on the 24th November 2020 following a 6 month period of consultation with over 100 U.K. stakeholders from:
- Members of the UK Parliament and House of Lords
- Business leaders of companies headquartered in the U.K.
- Civil society leaders working on issues of global, common interest

“China has become one of Britain’s most important bilateral relationships, as well as one of the largest geo-political challenges on the world stage today. We need our politicians and leaders of business and civil society to be as well informed on China as possible.”
Sir Malcolm Rifkind KCMG KC Chairman, UKNCC Advisory Board
Our funding
UKNCC is independent of all governments and our activities are funded through a multi-source philanthropic / professional service fee model that guards against any single source becoming dominant. Acceptance of any donation over £7,500 is subject to a scrutiny process overseen by the UKNCC Advisory Board.

Our culture is inclusive, collaborative and to act as system builders. Our objectives are best served by working with a diverse range of individuals and organisations who share our interest in the future of UK China relations
